INTRODUCING CHEN FENWAN
Born in 1990, Chen Fenwan graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, China, and currently lives and works between the cities of Guangzhou and Foshan. When she was younger, she was heralded as one of the top upcoming paper artists in China.
Fenwan is interested in using traditional folk-art techniques, with a particular emphasis on paper-cutting, and exploring the possibilities of this medium in the world of contemporary art. The results are often large scale, multi-dimensional pieces designed to engage with a wide audience in public spaces.
